Recently, The Spirit of the Lord lead me to do a study on the two trees mentioned in Genesis, The tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. As I prayed for deeper revelation into what the Spirit was saying, I saw a vision of the tree of life. It was glowing with constant movement and golden light. I felt impressed that this tree is constantly moving, growing and changing. The tree made me think of Romans 8:28. “For we know that God works everything for the good, for those who love him and are called according to his purpose.”
Every decision, word and action we take on earth has consequences, for a man reaps what he sows; yet God promises us that those who are called according to His purpose who love him he turns everything that happens in our lives into good. He is a good good Father and the word of the Lord God is not stagnant. He set life in motion so every seed we plant bears a harvest, whether good or bad, and when bad things happen to His kids because of sin and persecution, He will turn it for our good.
The tree of life represents having childlike faith. As we “lean not on our own understanding, but acknowledge God in all our ways,” He leads us and guides us on the narrow path which leads to life. (Proverbs 3:5-6.) Revelation 2:7 Says, “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”This implies people who have eyes to see and ears to hear who are the actual sons and daughters of God. God’s children hear his voice, and the voice of a stranger they will not follow. This also means sons of obedience will eat from the tree of life, whereas sons of disobedience will not.
In Genesis 2:16 the Lord God commanded the man saying of every tree of the garden you may eat freely- but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die. Then Satan (the serpent) lied and beguiled Eve by stating, “You shall not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and desirable for gaining wisdom , she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate it. Genesis 3:6.
In Genesis 3:22 the Lord said, “Behold the man has become like one of us, to know good and evil, and now lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat and live forever, therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken.” As soon as Adam and Eve ate from the wrong tree, they were cursed into a life of works and death until Jesus came to redeem us from the curse.
The tree of the knowledge of good and evil represents man’s pride, rebellion and decision to not trust God, but to trust the voice of the enemy above what God says. This tree is man’s knowledge, leaning on his own understanding, above the word of God. This tree represents those who do not trust God, but choose to put their trust in princes first. Psalm 146:3 states, “Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal man, who cannot save,” yet how many people today are trusting the prince of the air through news media, politicians and science above the word of the Lord?
Proverbs says there is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. Jesus said, “Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.” Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by your fruits you will know them. Not everyone who says to me “Lord Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my father in heaven.” Matthew 7:19-20.
The tree reference occurs many times in Scripture. Jesus hung on a tree to redeem us from the curse of eating from the wrong tree. 1 Peter 2:24, “Who himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we having died to sins, might live for righteousness-by whose stripes you were healed.” Psalms 1 1:3 also states Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seats of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.”
Jesus warned us about wolves in sheep’s clothing. These wolves are ministers who call on the name of Jesus to do false signs and wonders, but are far away from Him in their hearts. They do not KNOW Him. “Many will say to me on that day Lord Lord have we not prophesied in your name, cast out demons in Your name and done many wonders in your name?” And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.” Matthew 7:22. The greatest commandments are to LOVE the Father God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and Love your neighbor as yourself. Love of God and people is the key to good fruit. Jesus said if we do these we will fulfill the law.
The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. 1 Timothy 6:10. Recently someone told me that Free Masons/Luciferians started when they read the verses about Jesus sparring with the devil in the wilderness and realized Satan must hold all the power and wealth of this world since satan beseeched Jesus to bow down to him and he would give Jesus riches and worldly wealth. We know Jesus did not bow down to satan. Luciferians chose to bow down to satan to accumulate wealth and power. The devil comes disguised as an angel of light, so Luciferians come disguised as angels of light too….wolves in sheep’s clothing. Jesus warned us about the devils children and told us to be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves.
John 4:24 states God is spirit and His worshippers must worship Him in spirit and in truth. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. We must be part of God’s living tree with the ever present loving gardener who prunes us so that we may bear more good fruit. Pruning can be humbling, but as children of God we must stay low and submit to the loving hands of the vinedresser. Standing on the word of truth and having eyes to see and ears to hear what the spirit of God is saying. Scripture without the Holy Spirit interpreting can lead to dry religion (having a form of godliness but denying the power) and false doctrines. Remember satan knows the word of God well and sparred with Jesus by using scriptures that he twisted for his agenda above God’s agenda.
We must pray for increased discernment these days so we will not be deceived. Look at the fruits of ministers, not just signs and wonders. We must listen to what the spirit of God is saying and obey! It will not end well for the sons of disobedience. Broad is the gate that leads to destruction, and narrow is the path that leads to life. God’s ways may feel narrow and restrictive at first, the devil comes to deceive and say, “God doesn’t want you to have money or power, so follow me” but Jesus said I came to give you abundant life. Don’t fall for the deceiver! He comes only to steal kill and destroy. John 10:10. Get on the narrow path so you will hear “Well done good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things: I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” Finish your race well so you may enter into your eternal reward in heaven.
