This morning I kept hearing the verse about the “blind guides who strain out a gnat.” I believe this was when Jesus was referring to the Pharisees of His day who were blind to the Messiah right in front of them, but instead were hyper focused on their own religious works and judging one another. Then In John 12:42 it Says “Nevertheless, even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him less they should be put out of the synagogue for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.” Then Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me.“ Scripture also says “if you have seen Me you have seen the Father.”
Isn’t it interesting how in many churches we are taught to pray “Father if it be thy will” prayers; when we have the example of what Jesus did here on earth and we know that he did nothing apart from what the Father told him to do… Therefore if we look at Jesus’s example, we should know the will of the Father and pray boldly with the authority given us in the name of Jesus.Let’s not be like the Pharisees who love the praise of men more than the praise of God. Remember the Father sees what we do in secret and I believe it is what we do in secret with the Father that will reveal our fruit in public. “If you abide in me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit so you will be My disciples.“ John 15:7.
