Jesus Our Great Gardener
I’ve been working hard on gardening and landscaping. The Lord has been teaching me things as I go. One thing I’ve noticed is there are thousands of rocks in the soil here. There were also many weeds instead of grass. I noticed that every time I pull up a weed, rocks were underneath it. I thought of the parable Jesus taught about the weeds and thorns being like the troubles or worries in life that choke life out of us, and the stones like stoney hard hearts beneath that allow the weeds to grow.
Weeds and rocks hurt the life of healthy plants! Jesus wants us to forgive and remove the stoney hard parts of our hearts and pluck out the weeds (worries) at the roots so they don’t grow back. I’m also learning that gardening is hard work. It requires great patience to do it properly, and I have been doubled over in back pain after several hours of working. Picking out thousands of rocks could seem laborious and dull, but Jesus is the great gardener who is patient and dilligent with our souls. He takes his time and thoroughly makes sure no stone is left unturned and all the weeds we allow to grow he plucks up (if we allow Him to be Lord and master in our lives) He is faithful to finish the good work he started in us patiently and lovingly preparing the soil of our souls for a more fruitful harvest!

What a revealation. Its so powerful teaching indeed
