I believe some of the suffering and pain of Man, is because we were granted “Free Will”, and… well …take it from there.

hi there.
My interpretation on the phrase “God allowed…”
As human beings, we have an innate need to understand the mysteries of God, as well as the mysteries of this life in general. So, when difficult things happen to us, and we don’t know or understand why it’s happening and we wonder why our all powerful all knowing God, who can very easily fix or change the situation is not intervening for us, this brings comfort
because we do know that God is good and is our provider of all good things and that He does not bring struggle upon us.
I think we came to this conclusion, when once we are on the other side of said challenges, we are often able to see the good that God brought us from that difficult situation, that we were not capable of seeing in the moment. Or, just seeing the simple fact that He brought us, sometimes even walked with or carried us through it.
In a nutshell, I don’t think people mean that God “caused” it. We know God is good and that the challenges we experience are either due to our own sin or are simply because of the world we live in, ruled by the enemy. So when Gods good purpose and will for us comes after, we acknowledge His Good grace and mercies by stating that He allowed (by not intervening) this to happen so that He can use it as a moment for growth, rather than just letting it happen and there not be anything good to come from it. God doesn’t bring the struggle, and He doesn’t always intervene. But He often uses it to bless or teach us something from it. Because yes, God is a good God!
I think that’s very insightful and a very good take on it. Thank you for sharing Nikki.
