God’s Redemptive Plan: Praying With Authority By Sonia Ann

God’s original design in the Garden of Eden was for man to live in a perfect world, free from sin, pain, hunger and death. In Paradise there were no weather problems, hunger problems, or predatory animals. Adam and Eve did not have to kill to eat to survive, there was no sickness or disease; all of that came through sin and the fall. God’s perfect plan is to redeem us by sending Jesus who died to put things back in order and to bring his kingdom on earth. Jesus told us how to pray in the Lord‘s prayer. He said to pray that “His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” In heaven there is no sickness, sadness, disease or poverty, so it is God’s will for us to walk in freedom, joy, peace, health and provision here on earth. Jesus often said “The Kingdom of God is at hand.” We as believers are to bring the redemptive plan of the Kingdom to earth as disciples of Christ.

Matthew 24:12 warns us that because of the increased wickedness in the world, many hearts will grow cold. The one who stands firm to the end will be saved. We must learn to stand in our authority as believers to stand firm until the end. Many saints have been taught that when bad things happen we have to accept it and trust that God is allowing it for some reason..to teach us patience or humility; and many people cite Job as our example for suffering. The difference between Job and the believer today is that we have authority over Satan in Christ. Job did not have authority over Satan because Jesus had not yet died and given the keys of life and death back to us.

In the Old Testament, people were still under the law and therefore under the judgement of sin. Jesus suffered on the cross and died for us to fulfill the law and redeem us from the curse. He rose again with resurrection power! When Jesus died he first went back to hell and took the keys back to death to life so we Had power and authority over the devil. (Mathew 16:19) Jesus said He would send us the Holy Spirit to help us once He returned to the right hand of the Father.

Too many people in the body of Christ are struggling with disease and poverty. We must be careful not to accept the things the devil is putting on us and call it God’s will. If we took our authority and prayed for one another more, we would see more victory over the works of darkness. New Testament Scripture is clear that God is not the one putting these things on His kids. There are examples in Scripture where Jesus healed the sick and assured that the sickness was not from sin but that the works of God should be revealed in Him.” (John 9:3 NKJV) and before Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead he said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the son may be glorified through it.” John 11:4. Jesus was glorified not through the death of Lazarus but through performing the miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead.

As believers we need to be especially careful what we speak and what we agree with “The power of life and death is in the tongue,” Proverbs 18:21. We must take a stand against evil and not tolerate it and certainly not say that God is allowing it or doing it to teach us something. If we believe death and disease is from the Father, then we won’t resist it. “Resist the devil and he will flee,” James 4:7. Jesus overcame the works of the devil…we are to overcome too!

One strategy of the devil is to keep us in judgement rather than offensive prayer. Scripture admonishes us to “judge not lest we be judged,” and “pray for one another.” We need to be careful not to act as “Job’s comforters” pointing fingers of judgement. “Are you sure you don’t have any un-confessed sin? Maybe this is why you keep getting attacked?” Even when we have strong accountability and quickly repent so we do not get deceived and stay entangled in sin; unwarranted attacks may still come from the enemy of our soul. A famous preacher said, “If you never run into the devil, it’s because you’re heading in the same direction!” Thank God Jesus died to give us back authority and overcome the works of the devil.

Jesus warned us that the Godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. Persecution comes from anti-christ spirits that are already in the world, and people with selfish motives, strife, envy and jealousy. Jesus warned us about this in John 2:18. Jesus said “If they hate you it’s because they hated me first but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world.” John 15:18-20. When the devil deceives people they believe the lies which gets them into wrong thinking and wrong attitude. When people are deceived, they come against the Christian agenda and Christ’s people. The apostle Paul persecuted many Christians before the scales fell from his eyes and he was converted. We need to pray for the scales to fall from people’s eyes so they will come to the truth.

We must look at the fruit of teachers and pray for discernment too. Jesus warned us in Matthew 7:15-20 of false prophets in Sheep’s clothing and tells us to look at the fruit. Paul warned us in Acts 20:29 that savage wolves would come in among the church… speaking perverse things to draw away the disciples. We must rely on the Holy Spirit through the Love of the Father in Christ to correctly interpret and apply the Word of God as Jesus promised, “But the Helper, The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things, and bring to remembrance all things I said to you.” John 14:26. We must make sure prophetic words line up in scripture and demonstrate the Father’s will. “Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the Kingdom heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” Matthew 7:21-23. “The gifts and the call are without repentance”….but without repentance, many will go astray.

Jesus gave us the keys and told us we had the same authority He has to overcome the works of the devil. In the great commission, Jesus said believers would heal the sick, cast out devils, take up serpents and raise the dead! Jesus always healed people, He never put sickness on anyone to teach them a lesson. Jesus said to glorify us that we may glorify Him. Healing and resurrection power through His Love bring God glory!

We have the victory in Christ. Many weapons may be formed but much fewer will prosper as we take our authority in Jesus name and stand on His promises. The Kingdom of God suffers violence and the righteous take it by force! We are called to advance the Kingdom of God! We don’t retreat and wait until the enemy attacks and then plead to the Father to deliver us when Jesus already paid the price for our deliverance. We are to stand in our most Holy faith having done all, we stand on the word. Praise the Father for sending the Son and Holy Spirit to fight with us! We are not alone and we have authority because of what Jesus did! Pray that you won’t be deceived by anti-Christ spirits. Pray for discernment. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you and guide you into all truth and righteousness. Stay strong in the Lord saints!

Receiving The Baptism of Power By Sonia Ann

The ministry of the Holy Spirit is so crucial to the Christian, but so overlooked in many churches. 2nd Timothy 3 warns us of Godlessness in the last days; “People will have a form of Godliness but deny the power thereof.” The Holy Spirit comes on us with Power. God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power Love and sound mind. Jesus finished His work on the cross and rose again. He is back at the right side of the Father in heaven. Jesus told us that the Holy Spirit would come after he left the world, to comfort us; give us wisdom, and all the fruits of the Spirit. Jesus said “You are in error because you do not know the scriptures or the power of God” Matthew 22:29.

Jesus also said “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the Kingdom of God has come with POWER.” Mark 9:1 In Luke the angel answered “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Luke 1:35. We will see signs, wonders, miracles, healing, deliverance, and even see the dead rise again. Praying with others and standing in faith for healing, provision and breakthroughs are an amazing part of the journey as Christians, but are we experiencing His Power?

Although I was raised a Christian in the Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, I never experienced God’s power until I rededicated my life attended a church pastored by Ken Gullikson which was an offshoot of the Vineyard in 1995. I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in a small home in Santa Monica with a faithful mother and her son who had been very close to Lonnie Frisbee (A prophet from the Jesus movement in the 70s in California.) The gift of prophecy flowed freely with us, and Meg the mother, confirmed I was a mouthpiece for the Lord.

One night in their living room worshipping the Lord, I felt warm hands touching my back. My eyes were closed so I didn’t know if a person was laying hands on me; but when I opened my eyes no-one was behind me. I started to shake and rock like a conduit for a charge of electricity. It was like I had connected to a power outlet. At the time I didn’t really know what happened. It was supernatural and exciting, yet I had peace. That was when I believe I was baptized by the power of the Holy Spirit. Later in my walk with the Lord, I found out my grandmother was supernaturally healed of cancer through the laying on of hands in a Quaker church, and that the Quakers got their name because they quaked when the power of the Holy Spirit came on them. Perhaps this shaking was also manifesting in me because I had Quaker roots in my family line.

It is time for the church to rise up and take her rightful place and understand her true authority as we are married to the Savior. When we walk intimately with Jesus we become one with Him and are able to walk with Him and do the same things He did when he walked the earth. Jesus said we will do even greater things than He did. The bible says they will know us for our Love for one another. As we grow in the knowledge of His love for us, forgive one another, pray for one another and carry one another’s burdens, we will see God’s love manifest with

power. In Luke 1:17 it says, He will go on before the Lord, in the spirit of power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous – to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Most people think of the power of God as destructive power used for His judgement for our sins. Jesus demonstrated God’s power for healing, and to perform miracles, (he turned water into wine, multiplied five fish and a few loaves to feed over 5000, and He restored broken hearts and gently turned people from their sins.) Jesus also always protected the underdogs in society especially women who were judged more harshly than their male counterparts. Remember the woman caught int he act of adultery? Where was the man she was caught with? Why weren’t the religious leaders stoning him too? In the story of the woman at the well, Jesus gently convicted her of her sins having had five “husbands,” and Zacchaeus the tax collector, he invited to have dinner with. While the religious leaders rebuked Mary the prostitute for breaking an expensive bottle of perfume on the feet of Jesus, Jesus memorialized her in scripture as a hero of faith and love who recognized the voice and heart of her savior and was overcome with worship for Him.

The church is called to walk like Jesus and we are told we will do even greater things than Jesus did, so we must walk in the same power and authority to speak blessings, increase and favor. We must take our stand against the wiles of the devil and having done all we stand! We do not back down or give the enemy ground through believing the lie that we are less powerful than the enemy. Jesus said greater is He who is within you (the Holy Spirit) than he who is in the world (Satan). With God all things are possible and if we ask Jesus in our hearts then He is always with us! He will never leave us or forsake us! We have dunamis (dynamite) power of the Holy Spirit living inside of us! No wonder the devil wants us to stay in fear and deception that we are unworthy and unable to do what Jesus did. The devil is a liar. Jesus came to bring Life and Life abundantly and He supplies everything for the journey! All our needs are supplied by Him. If we ask and wait for the Holy Spirit we will receive the Holy Spirit. Once we do there is NO STOPPING US! When we are Holy Ghost filled dynamite power, word speaking, prophesying faith filled believers the devil will shake in his boots. The victory is ours church. Rise up now!

All Is Well By Sonia Ann

All Is Well By Sonia Ann 9/26/19

While fasting over the weekend I was battling a persistent headache that kept me up at night. I was losing sleep and very uncomfortable. On the fourth night I woke up again with a headache in the middle of the night. I inquired of the Lord why is this headache not moving and why I couldn’t rebuke the pain off of me in Jesus name by taking the authority He gave me. He replied “2 Kings 4:23.”

I opened up the Bible and read the sentence about the Shunamite woman saying “all is well.” I continued to read the story for context. In the story the woman had been childless and the man of God Elisha prophesied a son to her. Her son was born and all was well until one day he had a severe headache in the field and ended up collapsing in her arms and dying. When her husband came in she asked him to get the servants so she could fetch Elisha and his servant Gehazi. When her husband asked her if everything was OK, she responded, “All is well.“

Now at this point All was very much not well because her son was dead in her arms and she was very grieved. When the servant came and took her to Gehazi he asked her if everything was OK with herself her husband and their business… She again replied “All is well.“

The story really started to intrigue me now. First of all a son that was promised to her and given to her as a miracle gift from God through the man of God, was now dead. Second of all, he had an affliction in his head which I was currently fighting, thirdly when her husband asked her how she was she said “all is well,” and she again she said it to Gehazi.

This reminded me to call things that aren’t as though they are the essence of faith. I also thought of the power of life and death in the tongue and how she refused to speak the words that her son was dead even though he laid lifeless in her arms. Lastly I thought of how she wouldn’t speak about it until Elisha the man of God with the spirit of Elijah, told Gehazi to let her come to him because he could see she was in distress and the Lord had hidden it to him until this moment.

She then pleaded with Elisha to come back to her house and he did. He laid on the boy’s lifeless body and breathed life back into the boy, and he was raised from the dead! I believe this last part has to do with keeping quiet in the midst of adversity and bringing our pain and suffering directly to the Lord. Perhaps speaking that the boy was dead to her husband (the boy’s father,) then Gehazi might have opened up the door to fear, grief and unbelief.

Although It appeared that her promise was dead; she wisely refused to speak it until the Lord revealed something was wrong to Elisha. Immediately I understood in my spirit what the Lord was saying, so I said out loud, “All is well. All is well with my soul in Jesus. Thank you Lord for my healing all is well.”

Instantly the pain lifted and I got a good sleep for the first time in four nights.

Let’s watch what we speak and who we speak to about our problems and remember, we have a God who raises the dead to life!

Hallelujah. All is well.

ALL HANDS ON DECK By Sonia Ann March 3, 2020

Yesterday while I was recording a video for Facebook, the Lord said the phrase “All Hands on Deck” to me. The Lord has been showing me the need for us to show practical love to one another. There are many scriptures where we are admonished to love one another; John 13:34, Romans 12:10, I Peter 1:22 to name a few. Many single parents, orphans and widows are in distress and really need help. James 1:27 says “A religion that God accepts as pure and stainless is to take care of the widow and orphans in their distress.” (paraphrased.)

I Timothy 5:3 states urged the church to “Take care of widows who have no-one else to care for them.” When Timothy was writing to the church, I don’t think divorce was as prevalent as it is today, and neither was women being single into their fifties like we see today. I feel it is important to add divorced people to this list as well, since many women have been abandoned by their husbands, and although their husband may still be alive, these women have been betrayed completely and often abused by the person that was supposed to be their supporter and closest ally in life through the covenant of marriage.

Sadly in our current court system (especially in California,) there is rarely protection for mothers and ex-wives after divorce. Alimony and child support percentages have also decreased drastically. In short, the person who has the most money usually wins more in court and can keep most if not all of the money and property…long gone are the days of 50/50 divorces. Fatherlessness is also a huge epidemic in society, and families are suffering as a result of this. We need Husbands and Fathers to take their rightful place and honor their vows and stay committed to their families even when things get tough. Since many men have abandoned their posts, many women have been pushed into the work force to fend for themselves and their children. While this is good in many ways, it has lead to an independent spirit that can keep people so busy they stay isolated and exhausted, which isn’t in line with the Father’s heart.

I would even go so far as to say most current day divorcees have it worst off than most widows. When spouses die, there are often death benefits for the widows. I have talked to countless women who have gone through divorce and know several middle aged women who ended up homeless and in dire straights…several have had to live in their cars for months at a time, and others are racking up credit card debt with little hope of landing a good paying job after years of being out of the workforce as a homemaker.

It is too easy to say, “God will handle it, God is in control, He won’t let His people go homeless,” etc. While it is true we are sons and daughters of the King of Kings, we have also been told in Matthew 5:45 that rain falls on the just as well as the unjust. The body of Christ is to be the hands and feet of Jesus….scripture admonishes us to be pro-active in helping one another and doing good to one another, especially those in the body of Christ. “No one should seek his own good, but the good of others.” 1 Corinthians 10:24.

Many years ago God showed me something while reading Ezekiel 37 about the Valley of the Dry Bones. I noticed that God asked Ezekiel what he saw, and Ezekiel answered, “A valley of dry bones.” Then God asked Ezekiel if the bones could live…Ezekiel replied, “Only you know Lord.” The Lord then instructed Ezekiel to prophesy to the dead bones. And speak life into them. Ezekiel did, and the bones rattled and came together forming an army of skeletons. Then the Lord told Ezekiel to breath life into these bones. Ezekiel did, and the army came back to life with flesh and blood and sinews etc.

This story intrigued me and I wondered why God asked Ezekiel to raise up the army and breath life into them….”Why didn’t God just do it? After all, He is GOD! He doesn’t need us to do stuff, right?” If God didn’t need us then why did God wait for Ezekiel to raise up the army? God also gave dominion to Adam and Eve over all the earth and He chose to make us co-heirs with Christ. Jesus said, “If you love me, feed my sheep.” John 21:17. In Mark 6:37, He also told the disciples “You give them something to eat” when the hungry crowd was gathering and they only had five loaves of bread and two fish.

Jesus multiplied the little bit they had when they stepped out in faith and obedience and fed the hungry crowd with the little they had on hand. There is great need all around us and if we focus on the little fish and bread we have on hand we may not have the faith to step out and feed others. John 10:10 says that Jesus came to give us Life abundantly but Satan comes only to steal kill and destroy…since the fall of Adam and Eve, we are in a war to contend against the thief who is always trying to take away our provision through destroying things (marriage/family/health/jobs/relationships etc) but Jesus is the answer and He gave us the keys to His kingdom. He gave us authority and told us He would give us His Spirit to help us. We need to stop delegating the authority Jesus gave us back to God and take ownership of building the Kingdom of God here on earth.

We need to love one another more and help those family members who are hurting in practical ways. We need to start sharing our food with the hungry more and coming alongside those in need more. We need to be the body of Christ and honor each part better (regardless of how wealthy or needy each part is.) If we don’t have more money to give, we can babysit or pet sit for someone who needs a vacation or can’t afford to leave town and pay for petsitting, we can make meals for a single mother in need, help people with chores who are injured, etc…let’s be the example of loving one another that causes the world to want the Jesus we love and serve…..if we are HIS, we should exemplify HIM…”If you love me, you will keep my commands.” John 14:15.

The Lord also tells us that the power of Life and Death is in the tongue, Proverbs 18:21 God told us to choose life and not death in Deuteronomy 30:19. We must encourage one another to stay focused on the promises and goodness of God and to speak life not curses over each other. We reap what we sow, so let’s sow kindness and generosity to one another! Let’s be the example of the end times church that Jesus told us to be….washing each other’s feet takes humility. It’s not about titles, front row seats and building our own barns…it’s about expanding the Kingdom of God. Faith and Love are the major seeds to growing the Kingdom of God.

We are to lay our lives down for one another, and take care of those especially vulnerable. Single mothers need help buying groceries, fixing plumbing, picking up kids from school or daycare, and putting food on their tables. We need family support to be healthy in life. The people who live longest and healthier lives are usually those in community…not those with the most money.

Let’s be the body of Christ and show God’s love in tangible ways, rather than saying to the poor person on the road, “be warm and safe” without providing the blanket and shelter…..Faith without works is dead! “…How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds?…” James 2:18. Ask the Lord how you can serve those in need more…God will multiply whatever you give when you give with the right motives….God is so good. He is waiting on US! We are not waiting on Him….He is saying “ALL Hands on Deck!”

Is it God’s Discipline Or The Enemy’s Attack? By Sonia Ann July 29, 2019

God does discipline his children whom he loves but I think many Christians have been attributing the devils work and persecution as God‘s discipline. Rather than taking our stand and the authority God gave us to fight through Jesus via the Holy Spirit… We have been accepting abuse from the enemy for too long. Some of us have had an idea that God is abusive. God is all powerful and he does have ultimate authority which is the meaning of sovereignty… But he does not take away our free will… if a person wants to keep sinning, they can. God gave them free will and they can make choices all the way to hell, even though it is His will that none should perish! If God took away free will, there would be no love, because Love is a choice made freely…it is not forcing someone Into submission.

God does prune us, and sometimes cutting back can be painful…sometimes we feel discouraged or scared that we are losing too much. The gardener of our souls never prunes us to make us more barren, His pruning always produces more good fruit!

We are called to pray for, encourage, exhort and correct one another by speaking the truth in love. We do this to break off deception, take our stand and fight the good fight of faith. We are not supposed to give up under the enemy attack and accept it as God’s will or judgement. Jesus died for ALL SIN so we would not be under condemnation and judgement. We need to be praying for one another constantly; rebuking the devourer and doing good to one another when it is in our power to do so. Christianity is not a passive walk, and we truly need discernment to check the fruit and not be deceived. Jesus warned us to remove the plank from our own eye before pointing out the speck in our neighbors eye, so be careful not to judge someone’s season of pruning as God’s punishment.

People have misconstrued and misapplied submission in many churches as well. The anti-Christ spirit seeks to control and manipulate. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom! It is clear we are to submit to God, but we do not submit to the enemy or the enemy’s people. When people in leadership are in abuse of power with the wrong spirit, are we to submit to antichrist doctrines and systems? We are to pray for our leaders and stand our ground in the word. We are to submit to our Father in heaven and do His will on earth as it is in heaven. We must look at the fruit of what people produce, not necessarily the speech or manner they use in their fruit production. The bible warns us of false Christs and False Apostles/Prophets in the last days…that means wolves in sheep’s clothing in the church.

We must stay grounded in scripture with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We can’t take one scripture out of context and make it a doctrine. When you look through all of Scripture you see God‘s heart for us. The Father loves us so much that he

sent his only son to redeem us from the curse to give us everlasting life to give us resurrection power! We have been commissioned to go out in the world and make disciples of men. A disciple does what their teacher does. We are called to heal the sick, raise the dead, take up serpents, and cast out devils! Instead, many of us we have been constantly struggling with infirmity, not able to get victory in our own walks. How can we be good witnesses of the Good News to the world around us if we aren’t walking in victory?

We need to be equipped for the fight saints! We need to wake up and stop believing the lies the enemy has sowed into the church causing us to believe that we are still powerless and helpless, always waiting on God for a breakthrough. Jesus said speak to the mountain and it will fall into the sea… He gave us the authority to speak to the mountain! He said “It is finished” when he died on the cross. His work is done and He is sitting at the right hand of the Father. He will come back for a spotless bride! it is our job to take the authority he gave us and walk in victory!

Personally, I have been in several severe traumatic accidents where the enemy tried to take me out, both of my parents are gone (my father was killed when I was 14 my mom died of cancer 20 years later,) I have battled chronic disease, fatigue and poverty from much of my life. My Christian marriage was destroyed through choices my ex-husband made, and we suffered from infertility for years before my husband abandoned me. I do not say this as a victim; I say this because I realize I was not standing my ground and fighting in faith on the word; decreeing with faith God‘s word over my symptoms and circumstances. I also didn’t have enough brothers and sisters fighting alongside me and decreeing the truth over me and my circumstances. I am grateful for the few who did and the Lord himself who has been a Father to the Fatherless and protected me. I have had many victories in life as well…many more weapons were formed and through prayer and standing on the word they did not prosper!

Since learning the truth in scripture that we have the authority to speak to our mountains, to decree things in faith according to the Word of God, and to not accept what the enemy sends as God’s will for us….I have had many more victories and much less fear of the enemy. We need each other saints…none of us are lone rangers….we must stay in the sheep fold with Jesus as our shepherd to protect us from wolves. We need to discern wolves who come into our pen as wolves in sheep’s clothing too. Look at the fruit (not the package) test the spirits…pray for discernment. See if what people say and do lines up with the heart of God…..sometimes things get messy and it’s hard to see the fruit. Watch and pray….the truth shall be revealed, and the truth shall set you free.
